As a child, Roberto Gómez Bolaños dreamed of being a soccer player or an engineer; acting seemed ridiculous to him. But as time went by he discovered his true calling. First as a writer and then as an actor, he gave life to several characters, including two of the most popular in the history of Mexican television.
Angelines Fernández was born in Madrid, Spain in 1922. During the Spanish Civil War she was supportive the Republicans, and afterwards the Spanish Maquis. As a result of her support of the Spanish Maquis, she fled Spain in 1947 and after a brief time in Cuba she settled in Mexico. She began acting in films in the mid-1950s and television by the end of the decade. She gained her greatest fame playing Doña Clotilde "La Bruja del 71" on the Mexican sitcom "El Chavo del Ocho."
