Gong Jia Qiao, 66 years-old, becomes wheelchair-bound after a car accident. He currently sells lottery and tissue packets for a living. The story starts in Dakota Crescent, an old estate which is going to be reclaimed by the authorities for redevelopment. The story centres around three protagonists living in Dakota Crescent, Zhou Fa Da, Ye Xiao Ying and Zhang Wei Xiong. Big Brother Fa Da, Wei Xiong and Xiao Ying are the three musketeers of the neighborhood, people often refer to them as "The Heroes". Within ten years, Wei Xiong has become a capable lawyer, Xiao Ying now has a wife. During these ten years, Big brother left Dakota Crescent without a word. Nobody knows of his whereabouts, not even Wei Xiong. This led the neighbours into making wild speculations about his disappearance. Some said he was involved in a kidnapping case, other said that he was in prison. Ten years later, Big brother is finally back. He still retains his strong sense of justice and is prone to impulsiveness, hence turning the neighborhood upside down. However, he refuses to reveal the reasons behind his disappearance.
The story revolves around three brothers who grew up in a male-dominant family and all inherited a chauvinistic streak from their father. Eldest brother Zhang Nai Ping aspires to be his own boss but he suffers many setbacks in his career and his marriage. His wife Zhou Hui Min cannot tolerate his chauvinism, they eventually divorced. Chen Han Wei kick started his career in the entertainment industry when he became a finalist in the first Star Search in 1988, Singapore’s bi-annual talent search. Since then this veteran actor has come a long way, playing the male lead in numerous television drama serials and telemovies. This six-time Best Actor and two-time Best Supporting Actor winner at the Star Awards first rose to fame with his portrayal of a caring teacher in “The Morning Express” in 1995. The serial was immensely popular that it immediately spawned a sequel within the same year. Han Wei’s versatility included singing, showcasing his voice in the theme song for the telemovie “Cupid Love”. He also recorded several songs for The Morning Express album series. To top this, Han Wei made his silver screen debut in 2013 in the horror flick “Ghost Child”. In 2014, he was the recipient of the All-Time Favourite Artiste award at Star Awards after clinching his 10th popularity award. In 2019 he got his 6th Best Actor award. This multi-talented craftsman continues to make his mark in the local television industry to wide public appreciation and approval.
