Arini II (Biarkan Kereta Api Itu Lewat)

Nick and Arini finally marry despite their big age difference that leads to conflicts. Nick and Arini try to cope, and even decide to see a psychiatrist. Meanwhile, Ella, Arini’s child from Helmy, has a problem after a kidney transplant. She needs a new kidney. Her stepmother, Ira, offers to be the donor, with financial help from Arini. The operation is done in Germany. Upon returning home, Arini finds an upset Nick, who is jealous about a picture of Arini and Helmy together. In fact, Nick’s mother, who has always disapproved of his marriage, funded Helmy’s trip to Germany to set up the situation. Nick suspects that Arini is pregnant and refuses to go home. In frustration, he brings home a prostitute to his mother’s house. Then his mother goes to Arini’s house and finds out that Arini is struggling to give birth. She is then taken to the hospital and has a Caesarean. Meanwhile, Nick finds out the truth of the whole incident and goes to the hospital to apologise. The marriage survives.

Arini (There are Still Trains Passing By)

Arini is "misled" by a close friend, Ira, who wants to marry her husband, Helmi. Eventually she finds out this plan, so she asks for a divorce and leaves her son, who later is discovered to have kidney failure. She leaves for the U.S. where she meets Nick, a student who wants to escape from his conservative, and troubled family. Nick really loves Arini, but the latter is still involved in many matters related to her ex-husband. The director, Sophan Sophiaan, who has a political activist family background, always uses his films to criticise social and political issues. Only this time, he does it in a more subtle way.

Tris and Ayu are divorcing. Their children are bemused. Ayu’s father, who has been trying to reconcile the couple, somehow makes the conflict sharper as both parties want to take custody of the two children. When they find no agreement between them, the choice is given to the children. They decide to run away. Everyone panics. Grandfather is angry, especially when they have to report the missing children to the police. Together they search for the kids in the fountain that grandfather used to tell them about, the fountain that always made his relationship with grandmother harmonious. There, the family reconciles.
